On the surface, Professor Patrick Vine (McGann) is a London-based lecturer in History and Anthropology. He does, however, have an interesting sideline – revenge. He helps those who feel wronged exact revenge on those who have mistreated them. As one such client (Okonedo) comes seeking help after her husband cheats on her, but as the two grow closer and Patrick’s brutal past is revealed the question is asked if whether revenge, although sweet, is such a healer.
